First Family Bike Ride

Tee hee. I love this picture. Skinned knees [sign of a good summer], baby toes and a helmet that is just a tad overpowering on baby girl.

Last summer when we came to this park, I remember vividly thinking to myself that by next year at this time he will have a little buddy to ride shot gun.

These two surprised us and got along pretty well together in the Chariot & have managed to keep limbs to themselves. Lexi is not a fan of the helmet, but once we start riding she calms down and is usually good for the whole ride.

4 Month Update

This month has been pretty good, we battled her first mini-cold brought home from Cayden which I’m pretty sure he got at school. She wasn’t too miserable, just a runny nose and was good after a day or so. Cayden’s lingered a bit longer but overall it wasn’t too bad, and thankfully I didn’t really catch it.

The weather has slowly been getting warmer which has allowed us to venture outside a bit more. Anything above a negative 18 is good for me.

This last week we ordered and got our double BOB stroller with the intent of jogging with both. And by jogging, I mean Daddy. That thing is a beast to push and quite so with two kids in tow. But both love being in the stroller and she is bundled up in her carseat which then attaches to the BOB.

She is all over the place with sleep. Some nights she’ll wake up once around 3am to nurse and then falls back asleep. I was about to sing her praises until the next few nights she woke up every 2 hours to snack, cuddle and then fall back asleep. Which now she is loving the co-sleeper (whereas Cayden screamed bloody murder if he was set inside it) next to me at night. I set her SnuggleMe pillow inside the co-sleeper and it created a nice little nest for her to snooze in. Last night I ditched the SnuggleMe and let her sleep on the co-sleeper and she did pretty good, except she is so wiggly that she broke out of the swaddle twice during the night.

Day time naps have been pretty good, and she is usually sleeping while Cayden is up and once Cayden goes down for his nap, she is up. The sweet vicious cycle of naps that is keeping me trapped in this house. We did manage to go out for a walk yesterday and hit up a few parks along the way.

Oh this girl.

Her official non-official weight was about 12lbs at our last Milk Club visit. This great studio in Boulder hosts a weekly Milk Club (breastfeeding and formula) were you can bring baby to hang out, chat with other moms and of course weigh your baby. We have her official check up later this week so I’m excited to see how much she weighs.

She has also found her voice this week. We went out on Valentine’s day for lunch and she chatted and squeaked the entire time. Then promptly crashed as we walked out of the restaurant and snoozed the entire way home.

She giggles and is overall a pretty happy baby. She is so close on rolling over and it’s just been pissing her off in the evenings when she is doing floor/tummy time.

Cayden adores her and constantly asks where she is when she is not in sight. And slowly he has learned how to talk quietly and softly when she is sleeping but we are still working on that.

4 Months – Side by Side

Snowy & Cold Five on Friday

1. Brrr. It has been colder than a witch’s tit here lately which means we have been homebound for a few days. And by cold, I mean below zero temps.

2. Which has meant a lot of indoor activities like this, and Netflix.

3. And destroyed play rooms aka living room aka whole entire house.

4. Two things to note on this picture. One, the facial expression. I asked him to smile and this is what I got instead. And the other is the fact that my almost 3 year old kid really likes PB&J sandwiches now and I am a pro at making these one handed.

5. This one is 4 months old today. Didn’t I just give birth to her?
