It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas…

I never got why people made such a big deal about snow. Especially since I grew up in Alaska, where snow was very abundant and cold weather was just the norm. But now that I live in Colorado, the snow is a much bigger deal. There’s the ski season, traffic is slower, schools sometimes close, and although it is pretty and makes the outside glisten with the fresh powder it can also be a headache. Like for instance, shoveling {I am grateful that the hubs is the one who does the shoveling at our house} and when freak storms happen and we get dumped with feet upon feet of snow it can be quite a workout shoveling all of that from our driveway. But the best part of the snow this year has been watching BabyBird’s reaction to seeing it. It usually starts snowing by the time he’s already in bed, so when he wakes up in the morning the ground and everything is covered with a white blanket of snow. His reaction? ‘Oh wow!’ and I love the excitement in his voice. I am so curious as to what he is thinking and how he is processing that upon waking up the world outside looks different.
