Halloween, a quick recap

BabyBird dressed up like a dog this year for Halloween. The first few weeks after getting the costume, he wanted nothing to do with it. So I was kind of afraid that he wouldn’t like being dressed up. But surely after some attempts, he warmed up to wearing it around the house so when Halloween came around he was a champ at putting on his costume.

We went to a friend’s Halloween Party with a bunch of his buddies that we’ve known since they were infants. It was a blast.

We have: dog, butterfly, nemo, goldfish, lederhosen girl, where the wild things are, cheddar bunny, elephant, lion, surfer dude.

On Halloween day, we ventured out the Munchkin Masquerade on Pearl St. with our lil pup and wagon. At first I thought I would be too late for it, but we arrived right as everything was in full swing. And boy was it packed. Daddy met us {since he works in downtown and only a few steps away} and got to join us in trick or treating around the mall.

In the evening after dinner, BabyBird was excited to wear his costume again so we got dressed and went trick or treating in our neighborhood which was just going to a few houses next to us and saying hi to our neighbors. I was so proud, he walked up to each house, knocked {ever so lightly} and said thank you afterwards. But the best part of the night was after bath and being in PJs, he got to answer the door and hand out candy. I think that was his favorite part of the whole day. He was soo tickled that people were knocking and ringing the doorbell and he got to hand out bags of M&Ms and say bye to the kids.

Then he crashed. Hard. Fell asleep and didn’t hear a peep out of him until this morning. Side note: he woke up early this morning and when I went in to get him, he asked to snuggle. It melted my heart. So we snuggled and rocked for a good 45 minutes in his glider before we got up for the day.

Two funny things:

1. He wiggled himself out of his sleep sack and slept just in his PJs. I don’t even know how he managed to get out of it.

2. BabyBird didn’t get a taste of any of his candy. I don’t even think he knows that he can eat it. But he had fun collecting it and Daddy & I digged in after he went to bed. Maybe next year, kiddo!
