Enjoying the Simple Things

Looking up at the sky and watching an airplane fly across the sky.

Counting trucks as they pass by.

Finding small treasures and tucking them safely away in your pocket.

Taste the imaginary food that was cooked up just for me.

I try to remember during the hustle and bustle of each day to pause and take notice of these moments. Because it is in these moments that my child’s eyes light up and become so excited over these simple things. These are the simple things he enjoys.

Pause and take notice of the new leaf that is changing color, or the ants that are slowly making their way across the sidewalk. The dirty dishes in the sink can wait {they definitely aren’t going anywhere} and ignore the ever growing pile of laundry that is duplicating each day, and just truly enjoy the moment.
